General Game Format

Team Size: 6v6 (includes goalie). Stick Regulations: No long poles allowed. All players must use a standard lacrosse stick that is no longer than 42 inches. Offsides: No offsides. (Exception: If the goalie crosses the midfield line, 1 field player must remain back). Game Counts: No counts used during general play. Over & Back: No over and back rules apply until the final 2 minutes of the game (and only if there is a 4 goal or less differential).

Overtime

Overtime: A game ending tie is decided by a 3v3 Braveheart (2 field players and a goalie), which begins immediately after regulation time with a faceoff. No substitutions will be allowed during a Braveheart. The goalie can cross the midfield line as long as a player stays back. If a penalty occurs in regulation, it will carry into overtime. Championship games: Championship games will go to a 6v6sudden death overtime (no set clock). Each team will be awarded one timeout. Rules Specific to Girls

Faceoffs & Resuming Play

Start of Halves: Faceoffs will only be used to start each half. After a Goal is Scored: The ball is automatically awarded to the scored upon goalie, who will put the ball in play from their crease area. A referee must blow the whistle to indicate play has resumed.

Game Timing & Timeouts

Game Length: Two 20 minute halves. Halftime: 3 minute halftime intermission. Timeouts: Each team is allowed 1 timeout per half (one minute long). Because the time clock is kept on the field, timeouts are allowed at any time during the game, and the clock will stop.

Whistle Restarts: All restarts (out of bounds, penalties) will be initiated by a whistle. No Self Starts: Absolutely no self starts are permitted. Play commences and ceases solely upon the referee's whistle. Rule Framework: The Middle School division follows USA Lacrosse rules pertaining to U14 play. Crease Play: No Deputies are permitted in the crease.

Lower School: No stick checks are allowed. Middle & High School (Transitional Checking): Transitional checking will be allowed where the cross is 12 inches away from the shoulder and head area.

Code of Conduct & Sportsmanship

Coaching Requirement: Each team must have an adult coach (21 years of age or older) present who will oversee team discipline and act as the team's official representative. Sportsmanship: All players, parents, and coaches are expected to display positive sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Zero Tolerance Fighting Policy: Anyone involved in a fight will be immediately expelled from the tournament. The Jingle Brawl has zero tolerance for fighting.
