Safety First
Sunshine Events Group prioritizes the safety of all players, coaches, referees, and spectators. The Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust games and schedules to ensure everyone's well-being in adverse weather or unplayable field conditions.
Game Time Adjustments
- Reduced Game Times: Games may be shortened to accommodate delays and keep the tournament on schedule
- Early Game Completion: Games may finish before inclement weather arrives or to preserve field conditions
Rescheduling and Format Changes
- Rescheduling: Games may move to later in the day or the following day when possible
- Festival Format: If weather significantly disrupts the schedule, we may switch to a "festival" format—focusing on playing as many games as possible rather than playoffs and championships
Communication and Transparency
- Website Updates: Schedule changes and cancellations posted promptly to the tournament app
- Player Preparedness: Teams should be ready to resume play as soon as conditions allow
- Field Assessments: Field directors will evaluate conditions and communicate any schedule adjustments
Thunder/Lightning Policy
- Immediate Suspension: Play stops right away if thunder or lightning is observed. Players and spectators must leave the fields and seek shelter in vehicles
- Resumption: Play resumes only after 20 minutes have passed since the last thunder or lightning sighting, as determined by tournament staff
- Subsequent Games: We'll restart games on time when possible. Games may be shortened until the schedule is back on track, then return to normal timing
Please Note
- No Refunds: Weather-related cancellations, rescheduling, or format changes are non-refundable
- Final Decisions: The Tournament Director has final say on all weather-related decisions
We appreciate your flexibility as we work to keep everyone safe and ensure a great experience for all!
